The Paul Brown Happuna Beach Salon, is located on the west or Kona Coast of the island of Hawaii. (The island of Hawaii is also called the Big Island - so the island will not be confused with the state).

Literally, Hapuna means "springs," a reference to the water that bubbles from under the lava rocks, known for its revitalizing properties. The Hapuna water starts as glaciers ice, snow and rain, then travels through ancient lava tubes, within the Mauna Kea Volcano. (In Hawaiian the name "Mauna Kea" means "White Mountain." referring to the snow and glaciers that formed on Mauna Kea during the "recent" ice ages.) Eventually the hapuna water flow becomes part of the artesian wells that are rich in minerals, proteins and moisture-giving life.
